Auslogics™ Disk Defrag is a recommended tool for a Windows based computer.  Windows™ does include a hard-drive de-fragmenting tool that can be cumbersome to use since it has a history of restarting or problems getting it to run.  As many know, the hard-drive is constantly being used and data is moved around which leads to slower computer performance over time.  Think of a library where thousands of people are using books and leaving them everywhere.   A librarian is needed to step in and put things back in place so it will be easier to locate the information needed.  That is what disk de-fragmentation is all about and this is what this software does efficiently.

The free software can be found via our website:

  1. Left-click HERE to create a new user account.
  2. Once logged in left-click on the Maintenance Button button.
  3. Left-Click on the Auslogics™download link.
  4. Save it to the computer.
  5. To install just double-click the download and follow the instructions. [In Windows XP, Right-Click the download and Left-Click runas and uncheck "protect my computer ..." if present to give the install program full permission.]

Once installed, double-left-click the programs short-cut and;

  1. Select the hard-drive to de-fragment [ex. ]
  2. Select if you would like the computer to automatically shut down when complete (available in the latest version).
  3. De-fragmenting the computer once a month is normally sufficient and a Left-Click on the small arrow provides the following options:
    and the Defrag & Optimize is recommended.

This is a straight forward program to use, it runs efficiently and it keeps the hard-drive in good order extending its life.
